Production Assistant/Grower
Pay: $45,000 - $60,000 per year
Qualification Requirements
- Horticulture/Agriculture Degree and/or 3-5 year experience in greenhouse or nursery production; supervisory experience preferred.
- Bilingual, Spanish and English or willingness to learn.
- Spring/seasonal extended hours required (extra time off in Dec/Jan optional).
Responsibilities
- Manage small pot production facilities, including receiving and organizing incoming liners.
- Manage multiple crew leaders and a seasonal staff of up to 25 people.
- Oversee planting, watering, and growing crops in greenhouse and outdoor settings.
- Monitor plant health and scout for pests and diseases.
- Oversee operations of automation equipment such as mechanical transplanters, seeders and other automated production lines.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production goals.

Summer Internship
Full Time (Paid) Internship – May-August
Centerton Nursery is looking for an enthusiastic student or young professional that wants to learn more about the Horticulture industry.
Skills you will learn in this internship:
- Propagating: Nearly half of what we grow, starts here as propagative material.
- Growing: potting, herbicide, pesticide, beneficial insect use, etc.
- Plant Care/Maintenance: We have engineered and built our own trimming machines. Learn when to trim a plant and how to keep crops filtering in a timely manner.
- Vegetable Production: Work with our transplanting team to help grow vegetable and herb plants for the garden center market.
- Field Production: We have a sister company selling large bare-root plants to the wholesale grower market.
- Shipping high quality, disease and weed free plant material that is ready for retail.
- Branding/Marketing: We create many of our own brands and design logos/graphics for these programs. In addition, we market our products through social media and mass emails with picture availability lists and weekly videos. We also produce our own website, catalog, and flyers.
- Sales/Customer Service: We pride ourselves on having some of the best customer service and quickest turnaround times in the industry. This starts with good communication.
