Head Grower
Our Head Grower will be managing 3.2 million square feet of greenhouses containing perennials, shrubs, and edible crops (vegetables and herbs). This position maintains plant health and is responsible to creating a high-quality product that will be shipped to independent garden centers.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all greenhouses of perennial, shrub, and edible crops
- Scout and manage plant health - assigning treatments for pest/disease issues
- Planning and Implementation of the production plan with production team
- Receive purchased plants and track in software
- Oversee irrigation, propagation, and weeding departments
- Manage IPM planning and applications
- Inventory management of IPM products
- Using beneficial insects when possible
- Using plant growth regulators when necessary
- Tracking pH/nutrition levels in soil and amending when necessary
- Reporting crop and greenhouse status to management
- Track and enter data into software system

Schedule
- Full-time Year round
- March-June 40 plus hours and some Saturdays
Education: Bachelor's (Required)
Experience: Horticulture: 3 years (Required)
Language: Spanish (preferred)
License/Certification: Pesticide Applicator’s License (Required)
Work Location: On-site (Brigdeton, NJ)
